You can come to us or we can come to you to put a new twist on the oldest education method on earth. Experiential education, or in more specific terms, learning by doing, is the heart of NARR’s TAG program. By teaching teamwork and group interaction in a beautiful and fun environment, your students will not even realize that they are actually being taught skills that they can use for a lifetime. While focusing on the specific challenges for different age groups, students will intrinsically learn cooperative play, collaboration, problem-solving, responsibility, leadership and communication, to name a few. In addition to the challenge course programs offered by the TAG program, environmental education programs offer a wide variety of activities that can be done at the extensive NARR base facility or in your school yard and classroom. The programs are tailored to fit into your school and state curriculum while offering the students an energetic hands-on educational experience that will leave them energized, as well as an increased awareness of their surrounding world, and their relationship to it. The different programs correspondingly have different age requirements. Programs are developed for grades one through college, in addition to professional development programs for educators. The strength of any program rests with its staff. NARR’s experiential education staff has a broad range of experience with a common denominator – a love of education and adventure in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. If you would like more information on school-based experiential education programs or professional development, please contact Natalie or Brandon.
